6 Awesome Activities to Do On Mother’s Day

If you want to go out and have fun, or just relax and have a nice meal at home, or do something exciting, here is a list of ideas to fit your wishes on Mother’s Day. Enjoy this special day, no matter what you do!

A Day Together

Mother’s Day is the time when you can set aside all your plans and treat yourself as the queen of the day. This is an opportunity to have a fun adventure with your family. Just choose a special place (an ocean, lake, or your favorite park) and head to it. Spending time together is what really counts. If you don’t want to leave home, you can do gardening, cook together or bake a special cake.

A Day for All Generations

You can celebrate this day with other mothers in your family. Gather them all together to have a joint celebration. If the weather is warm a barbeque is a great thing to do. This simple activity will make the day special and memorable. It could also be as simple as sharing an ice cream.

A Day for a Break

Some mothers agree that a break is the best gift they can get. Encourage other family members to participate and let the mom relax. She definitely deserves that! You can also prepare special dinner and serve it for her on this special day.

A Day to Make Memories

If it is warm outside, you can have your children and other family members place their hands into a tub of nontoxic, bright paint. Then spread out a roll of butcher paper and have every family member press their hands onto the paper. This will leave the prints behind. Then you can label every print with a name, a date and maybe a simple message, and allow everything to dry for several hours. Try this activity every year to see how much bigger some hands become! It is a great family tradition that gathers all members together.

A Day for an Exotic Vacation

You don’t have to go abroad to have an exotic vacation. What about enjoying a taste of France (or any other country that you like the most)? If you choose France, get croissants for breakfast, have a lunch of French cheese, bread, and fruits, or go to a restaurant and order your favorite French meal or dessert. Just get into the flavor of a chosen country.

To take it to the next level, play some French music, get fresh flowers and teach your children simple French words.

A Day for Hugs

Another great idea is to have hugs and kisses all around! There are many ways to work it into this special day. For example, you can prepare a hugs and kisses schedule and post it on the fridge or a spot where everyone can see.

You can write something like “11.00 a.m. Every family member runs around the couch and gives a mom a hug.” You can also write silly things, like “Everyone hops around the tree, stand on one foot and go for a group hug.” You can let your imagination go wild and make your own directions and silly activities – just include a lot of hugs and kisses in this day.
